Meet Bram

A coach who knows your numbers, not a chatbot with amnesia

Bram starts from your profile, works with the 2026 Dutch rules we keep current, and answers first, then explains. When something needs a licensed adviser, he says so.

  • Answers use your own income, ruling date, savings and goals
  • Plain English, with the Dutch term when you will meet it on a letter
  • Concrete next steps with amounts and dates, never product pitches
My 30% ruling ends in March 2028. What actually changes for me?

About €908 a month less take-home, Sofia: from €5,078 now to roughly €4,170 once the ruling ends. There is a smaller step first, in January 2027, when the 30% becomes 27% (about €90 a month).

What I would do:

  • Live on €4,170 from now. An automatic transfer of €908 on payday builds about €16,350 extra in 18 months, and the cliff becomes a non-event.
  • Box 3: nothing to do this year. Your €39,000 stays under the €59,357 tax-free allowance.

Want the month-by-month plan?

Yes. And is my €27,000 buffer too much to keep in savings?

Why Helder exists

Every international I know has the same folder somewhere: a stack of blue envelopes, half understood, and a quiet worry that something is being missed. The Netherlands runs on clear rules. Nobody explains them to you in English, on your own numbers. Advisers charge by the hour, forums contradict each other, and so you guess. Guessing with your money is the most expensive habit there is.

Helder exists to end the guessing. Put in your situation once, see what it actually means, and ask Bram anything without feeling stupid and without being sold something. It will not be the flashiest money app you have seen. It is the one that finally makes your Dutch money picture clear, and that is the whole point.

Fair questions

Before you ask

Is this financial advice?

No. Helder is financial coaching and education. It helps you understand the Dutch system, see your own numbers clearly and plan your goals. It does not tell you which investments, mortgage or insurance products to buy, and it is not a replacement for an AFM-licensed adviser for those regulated decisions. Think of it as the brilliant friend who explains everything, not a broker.

Is a human answering me?

No, and we are upfront about that. Bram is software: a large language model working from your profile and a pack of 2026 Dutch rules we keep current and version. That is exactly why it costs €6 to €12 a month instead of €200 an hour. Every answer is based on your numbers, and when a question needs a licensed human, Bram tells you so.

Why not just ask ChatGPT?

You can, and you will get a generic answer that may be out of date and knows nothing about you. Helder is different in three ways: it remembers your full situation, so you never re-explain your life; it works from Dutch rules we keep current (box 3 figures, the ruling changes, allowances, deadlines); and every figure Bram uses is the same figure you see on your overview, calculated the same way.

Do I need to connect my bank?

No. You type in rough numbers during a ten-minute interview and can change them any time. No bank logins, no transaction data, no account access.

What about my data?

Your details are used only to calculate your overview and to answer your questions. They are never sold or used for advertising, and you can delete your account and everything in it from Settings. The full picture is in our privacy policy.

How does the free trial work?

You add a card, use Bram for 7 days, and nothing is charged until day 8. Cancel before then and you pay nothing. Your overview, calculators and tax guide stay free whether or not you keep a subscription.

What does "founding member" mean?

The first 100 members pay €72 a year, which is €6 a month, for as long as they stay subscribed. That is half the monthly price, forever. In return we ask one thing: tell us what you would change. There is an Ideas button in the app for exactly that.

Stop guessing. Get helder.

Ten minutes from now you will know your surplus, your buffer, your box 3 and what the end of your ruling means. Free for 7 days.
